When not physically in clinic in Fernie, BC, Dr. Romanchuk operates a Virtual Naturopathic Medicine Clinic based out of the Slocan Valley, British Columbia. BE WARE: The links to book on this website are for patients that are wanting to see her over telemedicine. Patients in Alberta MUST, within a reasonable time-frame of their initial visit organize a time for an in-person consult for physical examination, which will be discussed upon the initial visit.

In the time that Dr. Romanchuk is away from Wild Heart clinic, care is still provided via telemedicine and telemedicine allows for her to see patients that do not easily otherwise have access to naturopathic medicine due to physical locale, it also gives people the option to simply see her from afar for her particular specialities which are discussed under the above tabs: Treatment and Dr. Ashley Kristina, ND.

Dr. Romanchuk carries a pharmaceutical license providing needed allopathic care such as antibiotics, and allopathic care options for many other dis-eases such as hormone or digestive imbalances, thyroid disorders, diabetes mellitus and more, while also providing the education and wide array of naturopathic treatment options that include but are not limited to: nutrition and nutraceutical therapy, botanical medicines, naturopathic acupuncture, hydrotherapy, sauna therapy, energetic therapies such as homeopathics, UNDA drainage remedies and other vibrational medicines, exercise therapy, naturopathic spinal manipulation, detoxification methods, and intravenous therapy.

Telemedicine provides the ability to provide needed and safe care across distance and is especially important for the areas of British Columbia, Yukon and North West Territories that are underserved by health professionals.

Naturopathic care is available online through an encrypted program that provides telemedicine securely. Your private health information is of utmost importance both legally and ethically and all interaction with Dr. Romanchuk is completely secure and confidential.

Naturopathic doctors legally practice telemedicine and take patients from distance over a secure internet chat or phone line. This allows for a consult with a naturopathic doctor from the comfort of your home (or work place) and allows for both the urban areas and rural areas of Alberta, British Columbia, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories to access naturopathic medical doctor counsel and care with ease.

Telemedicine provides full ability for medical history intake, counsel on laboratory analysis, diagnosis, and treatment to occur.

E-transfers, cash and credit card are acceptable forms of payment. Online booking requires a credit card on file and this is a very safe and encrypted program used by Doctors and medical practitioners all over North America. Your information is secure as this is a database that was formed for medical practitioners to hold your medical information with top security. If you do not have a credit card and wish to book an appointment, please send me an email at info@drashleyromanchuk.com.

TELEMEDICINE: WHAT TO EXPECT

Preparing for your Initial Visit:

Setting up your Jane app occurs by clicking the pink APPOINTMENT button at the bottom of any of the pages on this website. You will be directed to your choice of appointment time and setting up your new patient visit. Click the Telemedicine (1 hr.) Visit. This is easy and the prompts will tell you what needs to be done. A credit card is held for security and may be billed after a visit or for a missed visit. A payment at the end of the appointment via e-transfer can also occur with the credit card stored simply for security. Full payment must be made at the end of visit. A receipt of appointment and additional costs will be sent to your email upon payment.

If you do not have a credit card and require booking, please call Dr. Romanchuk’s Medical Assistant: Marina: 250-531-0154

Setting up your new patient account requires some time as there are several contracts that must be read and signed, including the Doctor-Patient Contract, Telemedicine Contract and Treatment Contracts. Additionally, it may take time to find previous laboratory analysis or diagnostics from other health care practitioners and have them released and uploaded to your personal encrypted medical account with Mountain.Ash Naturopathic Medicine (Jane App) so account for this when looking to book your appointment. It is recommended to have all recent medical documents uploaded BEFORE your initial visit so Dr. Romanchuk may review what laboratory and diagnostic testing has been completed in your medical history at the time of your initial visit. Finally, it is strongly recommended to fill out the questionnaire with as much detail as possible as Dr. Romanchuk will read through your file before she meets with you, and this saves time out of your initial visit. A initial visit can proceed without laboratory or diagnostics results however it is recommended to have them organized as past medical history and diagnostics provide valuable information to Dr. Romanchuk and may decrease assessment costs and speed the ability to treat.

PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR PROVINCIAL HEALTH CARE NUMBERS ONTO YOUR JANE APP ACCOUNT. THIS IS NECESSARY AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION IN THE RARE CASE OF EMERGENCY.

The intake-portion of the initial visit is met online via Telemedicine. The initial intake is a one-hour visit with 30-45 minutes of medical history intake, alongside naturopathic history intake. Naturopathic history intake includes the entire spectrum of health: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and general lifestyle details. Time is allocated to objective diagnostic material such as laboratory analysis or physical exam. NOTE: laboratory analysis is additional cost to your naturopathic visits. Some recommendations of neutraceutical (health supplements) or nutritional treatment may occur at the end of the initial visit however the treatment plan with foreseeable treatment time and cost are not officially produced until typically the second visit, which is usually either 1-2 weeks, or a month later dependent on the extent of your medical case. Official diagnosis and treatment plan are produced as soon as reasonably possible once important diagnostic measures have been taken. Time and research goes into your specific needs and individual case concerns, alongside time spent to provide each individual patient with the most evidence-based naturopathic treatment available. The initial visit is meant for medical and personal history intake.

It is recommended that you choose a quiet space for your consultation that allows for confidentiality and non-interruption, including a safe and secure internet (or phone) connection. Confidentiality is of utmost importance in medicine and Dr. Romanchuk meets her patients via Telemedicine in a safe, secure and confidential location.

HAVE GOVERNMENT PHOTO IDENTIFICATION: DRIVER’S LICENSE, PASSPORT OR STATUS CARD READY AS PROOF OF YOUR IDENTIFICATION FOR THE FIRST TELEMEDICINE VISIT.

As previously stated: Jane App provides the Telemedicine platform alongside a database where medical records are securely stored online. Jane App is a fully encrypted medical platform and therefore medical information relayed over the Telemedicine visit is secure, alongside all medical information uploaded and stored, including your medical charts and credit card information.

Laboratory Inquiry: Objective diagnostics must be attained legally for a proper diagnosis. Objective Diagnostics include a Physical Examination or Laboratory Analysis and either, or both, are required for diagnosis as mandated by the provinces of Alberta. British Columbia, Yukon and Northwest Territories. Alberta patients are required to have a Physical Exam within a reasonable time-frame of their initial Telemedicine Visit so please note that all Alberta-based patients must still physically come to Clinic for a focused physical exam and naturopathic medical observation.

Cost of the common laboratories, alongside their description of the information they provide, is listed under ‘Laboratory Analysis’ in the above tabs of this page. Patients are fully disclosed of any laboratory that can be provided by provincial health at no charge however they must go into a walk-in-clinic or visit their medical doctor to access these laboratories. Unfortunately, at this time, healthcare in Canada does not provide naturopathic physicians/doctors access to these laboratories and naturopathic physicians/doctors solely have access to laboratory through private laboratories, which is at added costs. Laboratory Analysis is provided by Lifelabs/Rocky Mountain Analytical Laboratories in British Columbia, and the former-Dynalife Laboratories in Alberta, which was taken over by the Alberta Health sector in 2023.

Much of the realm of naturopathic doctors does lie in specific laboratory testing that is not being provided by allopathic medicine, which is an added cost to consult. Some of these laboratories appear to be a high cost however they provide a value of information beyond their monetary measurement. When we recommend these laboratories for objective diagnosis, results, and monitoring of your case, we do so with ethics, knowledge and genuine care for your health and healing. Laboratories are important diagnostic measures which give objective evidence to rule out disease, monitor progression of healing, and also monitor important indicators of health.

After the initial visit, if a laboratory is mandated, it is your responsibility to go to the closest laboratory for a blood, urine, stool, saliva or hair sample and this is recommended to do within the day, or close following-days to your initial visit so that results can be received as soon as possible for a diagnosis and appropriate treatment in the second visit. It is imperative that you follow directions closely, which will be provided clearly. These laboratories are expensive and if a patient does not follow directions and the laboratory can not produce results properly, the patient will still be charged for the cost of the laboratory.

IF you have recent diagnostics from another health care practitioner (laboratory analysis, ultrasound/CT scan/MRI…) that have been attained within the past 24 months, please locate these before your initial visit and upload them to your personal Jane App account so they can be viewed in the initial visit. In some cases, there may be no need to attain additional laboratory diagnostics.

For clarity:

laboratory analysis are an additional cost to the naturopathic doctor visit. they provide valuable information for proper diagnosis, Monitoring and treatment.

Stated again: It is recommended to have all previous diagnostics uploaded to your Jane account before your initial visit and therefore there may be no need for additional testing. This includes laboratory work (blood, urine, stool samples), and any MRI, Xray, CT scan or Ultrasound you have received. This can easily be attained by asking for copies from your MD or logging in to your provincial health portal.

Mountain.Ash Naturopathic Medicine focuses on efficient and quick diagnostics and treatment. After an initial consultation online, Dr. Romanchuk will be in contact with your closest laboratory (if mandated) and they will be expecting you for a visit. You simply must show up with your identity-card and UNLESS OTHER DIRECTION IS PROVIDED, it is recommended to be well hydrated and have eaten a small snack 30 minutes before your visit to the laboratory.

Naturopathic treatment often includes a Neutraceutical regime, speciality foods, teas and tinctures which are an additional cost to the visit.

These recommendations of treatment are highly effective and efficient at bringing an individual into a healthier state quickly. There is an option for pick up or for them to be mailed. Dr. Romanchuk may have to specially order and mail some orders, which may take up to one month for delivery. Prices of treatment will be discussed upon diagnosis. Mountain.Ash Naturopathic Medicine offers the highest quality products to her patients which Dr. Romanchuk has personally spent time researching to choose the best quality.

Follow up visits are treatment-orientated and can include any of the following treatments: naturopathic acupuncture, orthomolecular therapy (IV therapy) body work, massage, spinal manipulation, hydrotherapy, sauna therapy, exercise therapy, and more.
